GWF and Bill Payne

Yahoo / Inbox AMXTREK@aol.com To: wrestlingzen@yahoo.com Oct 10, 2005 at 9:38 PM One of my favorite wrestlers from the GWF was a nasty redheaded wrestler whom I believe was named Bill Payne. His valet was his wife and the two would always present a sickening display of affection towards each other before the match started. They were hilariously horrible people. I've never seen a profile of these two on any wrestling site. I loved the GWF and still have some episodes on tape somewhere. I adored the outlandish storylines towards the end. I forget the wrestler names but the storylines were unforgettable (the fat announcer who was under the delusion that he was Elvis, the "moon rock" bungee jump, the corrupt CEO who showed up homeless and reformed at Christmas time...It was so funny the way the wrestlers harassed that kid with the news segment). GWF had the smartest writing in pro wrestling. I wrote ESPN protesting its frequent preemption and subsequent cancellation. I never felt compelled to do this for any other show.

An email from '05 - About your site. Please read. Yahoo / Inbox Tami Apple To: wrestlingzen@yahoo.com Oct 6, 2005 at 7:37 AM Dear Zen, I wish to Thank you for your contribution to the "HISTORY" behind wrestling. I do greatly appreciate it. I also wish to add something to the site. Just a little blip. It is one thing to be a guy growing up watching this great sport but, being a girl growing up watching it is a different arena all together. You see. I grew up in Dallas Texas area, Bedford to be more precise. And the one thing that I could do battle with, with my dad was "RASTLING" as he would put it. He even went so far as to show me "Greco Roman" style of wrestling but, I ask "Where is the blood and drama"? tee hee. Being a young child and a girl at that. I would play with the boys NOT THE GIRLS ewwww grose. Well I stumbled on this little thing called "World Class Championship Wrestling" WOOOO HOOOO now ya talking my talk. lmao The guys, moreless, KICKED ASS. And I was entertained. I was happy. And I was sneaky. tee hee. I would get up and sneek into the living room, where the only t.v. set was located, and put the volume so low you could barely hear it. And when I would scream I would scream in whisper. tee hee. Kevin if you are reading this I am sorry but, you guys rocked, y'all a damn addiction that is what you guys were. tee hee. Anyway, the VERY FIRST WRESTLER that I saw was this gentleman, older in nature, and looked like he was through a war or something. Anyway, guess who he was? Anyone? Anyone? Well no other than Fritz Von Erich himself. Guess what I got my first taste into? The "IRON CLAW". That is the most famous move in wrestling, in my own opinion. I know we could have a massive debate on this topic however, I have always loved watching a family of gentlemen wrestle. The "FIRST FAMILY" of wrestling. Yes another argument. No it was NOT the loved (clearing throat) McMahon family that brought a new sport in the eyes of people on the ole tele. IT was the Von Erichs themselves. For all you baby fans (ladies and gentlemen younger than 30) There was something so special and unique back then that you do not get the honor of watching on WWE (trademark of Titan Sports). If you get a chance to buy or rent some of the WCCW stuff then please do. Sit back and enjoy what wrestling is all about and the originators. Another thing. For those advid fans. I have a theory about David Von Erich. God wanted him home. That is why he died. David was so unique and special as well. Now only one of the founding members of wrestling lives today. He is the Ambassador of Wrestling, in my own opinion, our own Kevin Von Erich. Thanks so much for all the wonderful memories. Now, time to teach these fools how to really wrestle. "Iron Claw" style. tee hee. I am sorry I had to throw that in. KEVIN YOU ARE MISSED. Thank you so much for Monday Night. I thought I would never see what I saw ever again. I just wished you jumped into that ring with Stone Cold. tee hee. Linda did not deserve that crap. tee hee. Anyway, enough out of me. Get the material I previously stated and enjoy. NOW THAT IS TRUE WRESTLING. Sincerely, Tami Apple (Von Erich Fan For Life) (Note to editor: I know about the typo's before I sent this. Please let it run. Thanks.)
